CENTER FOR YOUTH INTEGRATION (CYI)
The project supported in Serbia, Center For Youth Integration, has largely exceeded the quantitative objectives set (x3) and relations with the project teams have been particularly satisfactory.
At the end of this 18-month support program, 212 refugee children (out of an initial target of 100) and 386 children from Roma communities (also out of a target of 100) received essential care (hygiene, clothing, food) and psychosocial activities enabling them to consider reintegrating into school. Those most vulnerable were referred to specialists for appropriate support.
In total, 419 of these 598 children were able to access an educational path (70%, some did not stay).
This program also enabled families to gain greater independence: access to public services, assistance with obtaining official documents, parenting advice, and Serbian language and culture workshops aimed at helping them integrate into society. A great success.
